SkillScoop wanted to build a gig economy platform which could deliver smooth service exchange between clients and specialists. A dual layer monetization model was required that combined a credit based system for specialists with escrow style milestone payments for clients.

Also, SkillScoop required a strong admin panel to manage disputes, rules against misuse, no manipulative reviews and complying with New Zealand law. All of this with balanced scalability, usability and security presented technical hurdles, advance APIs, real time communication and role based assess.

Trust between clients and specialists was hard to maintain. Offensive content, unfair reviews, and disputes risked damaging credibility. The challenge was to protect users while still allowing open communication and feedback.

Finding Nearby Work:

Clients wanted to find specialists close to them, but location-based searches were complex. Handling different address formats and ensuring accuracy across regions was a major hurdle.

Role based access:

Managing disputes, content, and user activity required multiple admin roles. The challenge was to design permissions that were secure but not overly complicated, while also preventing misuse and spam.

Real time communication:

Clients and specialists needed to finalize job details quickly, but real-time communication was difficult to scale. The challenge was to provide reliable chat without delays or confusion.

Scalable Solution:

As SkillScoop grows, more users and transactions put pressure on performance which the client wanted to avoid at any cost. The challenge to us was to keep the platform fast, secure, and compliant with privacy laws while supporting future expansions.

Safe Payments

Stripe powered the “Hassle-Free” payment system, combining credits for specialists with milestone payments for clients. This dual model kept transactions transparent, flexible, and secure, giving both sides confidence while supporting steady revenue.

Trust Tools

Keyword filtering blocked offensive content, dispute resolution handled conflicts, and reviews added credibility. Blog tips guided users on posting jobs and handling disputes fairly, building a safer community.

Smart Location Search

Google Maps API enabled precise address input and location-based job filtering. Clients could easily find nearby specialists, while specialists targeted relevant opportunities.

Easy Admin Control

Admins, moderators, and editors managed disputes, user activity, and content with clear permissions. Help Center guides simplified workflows, ensuring administrators could enforce rules effectively to deliver the best efficiency on this custom marketplace solution project.

Instant Chat

Firebase and Socket.io powered instant chat between clients and specialists. Conversations opened only after a quote was sent and stayed active for 14 days post-job, ensuring structured, low-latency communication.
